Welcome to Fossil Hills Accommodation, situated on the farm Thornvilla in the Breede Valley between Robertson and McGregor. Thornvilla has been producing wine sine 1950 and has been in the Naudé family for 3 generations and is currently a working wine farm. Forming part of the McGregor Winery, grapes, plums, apricots and various vegetables are harvested each year.

The name Fossil Hills, comes from the fossils that were and are still found on the farm which date back to the fish age of 355 million years ago.

Fossil Hills Accommodation

Fossil Hills Stone Cottage

Stone Cottage is a thatched roof cottage that is situated up on the hillside with great views of the farm and valley. The cottage comprises a room with a double bed and a room upstairs with 2 single beds, both rooms share a bathroom with a bath and a shower. The living area is open-plan with a fully equipped kitchen, breakfast nook, lounge and an indoor fireplace. 

Other facilities include air-conditioning, outdoor braai, 2 mountain bikes and firewood. The cottage also has an outside hot tub.

Pinotage House

Pinotage House sleeps up to 10 guests in 5 bedrooms as well as an annex with 3 bedrooms. The lovely garden has plenty of trees and play area for the children. Both offer a kitchen, a lounge with a fireplace and an entertainment area with a braai & firewood. 

Other facilities include air-conditioning, 2 Mountain Bikes, Kayak and Boat and Swimming Pool. There is also an outside hot tub.

Aloe Cottage

Aloe Cottage sleeps up to six guests (including the Annex) and sports a double room with en-suite shower and bath, with a second room with two single beds. There is also an indoor and outdoor braai and fireplace facilities. From the private patio you have a beautiful view over the dam on your left and also a stunning view of McGregor to your right. Here you can relax in peace while listening to the song of Fish Eagles. 

Other facilities include air-conditioning, 2 mountain bikes, a kayak with fishing gear, firewood and the cottage is also pet-friendly. There is also an outside hot tub. 

Lavender Cottage

The Lavender cottage consists of 1 double bed and 1 bathroom fitted with a shower. There is also an indoor fireplace with braai facilities and an outdoor fireplace with a braai. From the front veranda you have a beautiful view over the vineyards as well as the McGregor Winery, McGregor town on to the Riviersonderend Mountains. There is also an indoor braai or fireplace as well as outdoor fire and braai facilities.

Other facilities include air-conditioning, 2 Mountain Bikes, 1 kayak and boat with fishing rods and firewood.

Lemon Tree Cottage

Lemon Tree Cottage sleeps 4 guests - 1 X Double room ensuite – aircon (bathroom sharing), 1 x 2 Single beds- aircon. Enjoy the outdoor hot tub, 2 mountain bikes and 1 kayak for fishing or canoeing on the dam 200m away. Picnic spot at the dam.

Tango Guest House

Tango Guest House (main house) sleeps 4 people and the Annex sleeps 6 people. A great option for a large family, this fully equipped Self Catering house has beautiful mountainous views.  Outdoor hot tub, indoor and outdoor braai, first bundle wood for free, dishwasher. 2 Mountain bikes. 2 Kayaks for fishing or canoeing.

Albatross Cottage

This cottage is situated just 3km from the beautiful town of McGregor & 1km away from the Donkey Sanctuary, Eseltjiesrus. 1 x Double Bed, 1 x Bathroom with Shower  (En-Suite), Open plan kitchen & living room, Indoor Fireplace, Outdoor Fireplace / Braai, 2 Mountain Bikes, 1 kayak and boat with fishing rods, Firewood included.
